February 2017

It is with great joy and excitement that we introduce the newest member of the Tri-Am Family.
Annemi, our second Design Technician is a young and upcoming go-getter from Pietermaritzburg. She is a keen hockey player and love to read, paint and go on hikes. She doesn't mind to get her hands dirty, and will therefore tackle site work with gusto.

She lives by two sayings that go hand in hand -
"Make peace with what was. Live for right now and have faith in what will come"
"I am not where I used to be, and not where I should be, but I am exactly where God wants me to be"

She has valuable site and project management experience and is keen to start her career as Structural Designer and general civil and geotechnical work.
We look forward to see her grow and excel to her utmost potential!

Leon taught Ntando, that after every project that he finishes, he must take of the Design Technician Hat and put on the "Checker's" Hat, and then he is to be like "A Boss" and mark, evaluate, test and indicate corrections where necessary. After this, he takes the Checker Hat off, and then he fixes it .

Leon then verifies that the (1) Design, (2) Drawing, (3) Checking and (4) Fixing and Completion has come a full circle...ensuring that the project is a Master Piece..an engineering solution to be proud off!

We found the The Boss this morning, with his "Checker Hat" on, eagerly scrutinizing the design work. ;-)

Well done, Ntando, with taking "ownership of your work" like this, you are well on your way in developing the skills to become a Pr Tech Eng!!!

Riddle:  (Think deep before peeking for the answer...)

A train goes between Chicago and New York. The brakeman, the fireman and the engineer are named Smith, Jones and Brown. (The names are not necessarily in order). There are also three passengers named Mr. Smith, Mr. Jones and Mr. Brown. Mr. Brown lives in New York. The brakeman lives halfway between New York and Chicago. Mr. Jones earns exactly $20,000 per year. Smith beat the fireman at their last game of golf. The passenger who lives in Chicago has the same name as the brakeman. The brakeman's next door neighbor is a passenger on this train and earns exactly three times as much as the brakeman. What is the name of the engineer?
